About

For the Love of Art

Art became my language long before it became my career. It isn’t a sound bite—it’s a lifelong story shaped by resilience, reinvention, and the courage to keep creating after the spotlight moves on.

I’m committed to endurance, evolution, and connection. My work grows through steady discipline and curiosity, not trends or instant visibility. It has always been about:

  • Craft

  • Discipline

  • Study

  • Curiosity

  • Repeat

My art is an ongoing dialogue with culture, community, and myself—one that has deepened through challenges and change. My mission is to keep showing up, to grow through the difficult moments, and to stay honest in what I create.

My journey began in childhood and continued at the Kansas City Art Institute, where I studied Illustration and began shaping my artistic voice. An internship with Walt Disney Feature Animation launched my career. Over 11 years at Disney, I grew from Intern to Clean-up Artist to Journeyman Background Artist, contributing to films including The Lion King, Pocahontas, Mulan, Lilo & Stitch, The Princess and the Frog, and serving as Background Supervisor on Brother Bear.

However, in 2003, my heart was telling me it’s time to evolve and discover new creative directions in the world of traditional painting. I left Disney to establish Kooser Studio, painting the landscape and portraits.

Since 2023, my work has shifted toward what I call “abstract traditionalism”—a blend of imaginative expression with the structure of portraiture and landscape. It’s a direction that continues to expand both inward and outward.

My traditional paintings and prints are represented in fine art galleries throughout the western U.S., and I’m always exploring new ways to deepen the connection between my work and my story.

Since 2009, I’ve shared my craft with emerging artists—teaching Illustration at the college level and leading painting workshops across Colorado.

I invite you to join me in this ongoing journey of discovery and be part of the creative dialogue.
